Do you love taking a long, hot, relaxing bath in the evenings? How would you like to make your baths even more enjoyable? There are plenty of things you can do that will turn your bath into the next best thing to a spa experience, at a fraction of the cost. It just takes a bit of creativity to set things up, and then you need to find some time for yourself (later in the evening, after the kids have gone to bed so you can really relax). Whether you’re vacationing at an extended stay hotel or just a stay-cation at home, here are five tips that will help you to create the best bath ever.
1) Set the Mood
The first thing to do is set the mood. Get rid of the overhead light, and set up some tea lights or candles. These are small and can be placed anywhere in the bathroom. They also don’t cost much. You can find tea lights and candles at your local dollar store. Decorate the entire bathroom with tea lights, and you will have the perfect atmosphere all ready for any time you want to enjoy a relaxing bath. Don’t forget to turn on some mood music while you are at it. It can be anything, as long as it is music that helps you to relax.
2) Stock Up on Snacks
You might get hungry while having your bath, so make sure that you have some munchies in the bathroom. That way, you won’t have to get up in the middle of your bath. Opt for your favorite treats, even if that means preparing a big sandwich before you head into the bathroom. You can also keep treats in the bathroom so they are always there, such as chocolate and other munchies. Keep your treats within reach, but not so close that they could end up falling into the tub.
3) Use Relaxing Bath Products
Now it is time to choose your bath products. Look for scented bath oils, beads, and bath salts that will give you a mini aroma therapy session right in your bathroom. You can pamper your skin while you are at it by using body scrubs with rings. These scrubs are made with ingredients that will keep your skin soft and give it a healthy glow. Plus, you will get a beautiful piece of jewelry to wear long after the product is all gone (of course, you’ll want to get more, because they are awesome for your bath, and you’ll love the jewelry).
4) Lay Back and Relax
All that is left to do is lay back in the warm water and relax. Make sure that your head is supported. If not, you will not be comfortable, and all of your work to create your perfect bath atmosphere will be for nothing. You can buy special inflatable bathtub pillows, or you can even fold up a towel or two and make your own neck support pillow. Now, enjoy your bath for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Make sure that you tell everyone that you want some alone time and not to disturb you during your me time.
